"Living the Dream"
CRESWELL – “I knew I was going to be in medicine at age 12,” states Sheri Schlorman about her choice of vocations.
Sheri who owns Creswell Veterinary Clinic in Creswell, Oregon started volunteering at age 12 in animal clinics where medicine, animals, and people became the necessary combination of ingredients Schlorman desired for her future avocation.
An ’88 Grad of Washington State University Schlorman joined a large practice in Eugene (Animal Health Association) till ’99 which included working in the Creswell Clinic, then a satellite office. Dr Greer moved the office to its present location where it was renamed Creswell Veterinary Hospital where it became a full-service hospital. It was here Schlorman became the single doctor of the practice in October of 1999 which she subsequently purchased in January of 2003.
Schlorman is a happy camper stating, “My dream is going great”! The big component necessary to complete that dream includes animals and people which all came together in 2003.
“Extracting info from people is sometimes hard to do,” states Schlorman referring specifically of the need to gather correct information to properly diagnose a pet’s health or situation. On the flip side, “Meeting new puppies & kittens is an education for both the owner and the new visitor. One of Schlorman’s favorite things to do which has become a somewhat a trademark of her practice occurs during the pet exam, a dose of “Cheese Whiz,” is administered which has proven to keep everyone coming back for more.
Guinea Pigs have found a special place at Creswell Veterinary Hospital and the word has spread to many of the owners through “Word of mouth” which has kept the Hospital providing the specialized equipment necessary, including dentistry for their care.
