OurLocalBusiness - Emerald Valley Video - 02/13/05

Valley Video is under new ownership. Shaun Foreman, Creswell resident and now owner says, “things will pretty much remain the same”.

Well, things are not the same. Shaun bring a unique desire and passion into his new venture. He has at one time or another worked at Figaro’s Pizza, Movies-To-Go, Dari-Mart, Snak Shack, Cascade Home Center and Creswell AM/PM. This has put him in a face to face relationship with most of us here in town. That is the way he likes it. His engaging smile and desire to serve will perhaps separate his business from the others.

He will be adding more movie and game selections to further increase the inventory of both. After all, Shaun has had a passion for movies since right about the third grade, watching what might be called inappropriate movies. The desire is still there as he continues to build up his personal knowledge base of actors, directors, producers, etc.

Some of you may remember the CNN/USA Today story of a guy giving an employee at the Creswell AM/PM $2000 for Creswell Schools. Well Shaun was that employee. Now a little older I asked him what his thoughts were when this stranger on a bike gave him this sack full of money. His answer, “How fast can I get to the school”? I further inquired about what the biker told him of why he did this act of kindness?

Shaun replied, “He said that God pointed me in this direction”. Well, I don’t know if anyone else is going to be showing up with money to give him, I do however believe that Shaun would do the right thing if it happened again.

So, at Emerald Valley Video there is nothing new, except a new owner. That however, Shaun hopes will make the difference.
