Creswell, Oregon - Originally from Tucson, Arizona, John Clow and his wife moved to Creswell in 1992 after selling their 40 year family manufacturing business. Creswell, Oregon was selected as residence because of its rural flavor and proximity to the mountains and the coast.
John's wife, Pamela is an optician and managed several optical retail stores throughout central and southern Oregon. John worked for two years as the business manager for the contractor who built the US Basketball Camp in Blue River. Shortly after, a local optical laboratory who was interested in growing beyond the local market recruited John for outside sales in the State of Oregon. He then discovered after traveling for six years the only people he knew were from out of town. John states, "I wanted to get to know my neighbors and decided to find something local in my own town, Creswell. He then interviewed with a couple of insurance companies and decided to open a small office in Creswell in November 2000 on Oregon Avenue which he then managed for two years.
Recently John opened the MetLIfe office at 175 West Oregon Avenue. "I find that the insurance industry is not unlike other businesses, it is dynamic, technical and requires continuous education. Insurance is a necessary part of our personal and business experience." It is important for him to understand the many idiosyncrasies of the market and products, and make the customer experience a positive one while having honest discussions about the hopes, needs and goals of the customer.
Typically John will be reviewing customer's policies, verifying new business issues, quoting new requests, prospecting for new business, and hopefully, visiting neighbors in the community.
John states he wants to "have a steady growth of clients in Creswell and the surrounding community and be involved in the community, grow with it while being a positive force for its welfare."
"Creswell is a vibrant growing community with a rich history, which includes many of Oregon ’s founding pioneers. We enjoy visiting with our local residents, many of whom trace their history back many decades," John states about doing business here in Creswell.
