Creswell – A new hand-made crafts business has opened in Creswell. Tina Fornoff, new owner of Littlebits Crafters Market got “fed up with the high prices of space rent,” so opened up her own business thanks to the encouragement of many others.

Tina, a former waitress, dispatcher, and truck driver started making candles during a layoff from her logging truck job during which her son sustained an injury caused by a hit ‘n run driver , “to make ends meet.”

She soon discovered her candles sold extremely well which are currently marketed in Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Arizona, which is helped in part by her retired parents who promote them during their travels throughout the Northwest.

Well known in Creswell, “60% of those in Creswell know me, partly because I was the only female log truck driver (she smiles),” Tina states, made it easy for her to decide where to start her hand-made crafts business, that of course being Creswell. Fornoff shared her idea with several other crafts people, four or which said they would “absolutely display their products with her” influenced in part by her enthusiasm while also saving on the “high rent” of other locations “like the malls,” for themselves. This convinced Fornoff to proceed with her business armed with a $1000 loan from a former employer who expressed confidence in the future of her business when she revealed the orders received from her candle business. So began Littlebits Crafters Market.

The business currently has hand-made clothing, candles, clothing, hats, bath salts, picture framing with much more to come and a regular rotation of product “So people can browse hand-made stock that will be rotated,” Fornoff states, and adds “many products can be custom ordered.”

Tina enjoys being able to keep her business in Creswell which keeps her available to her three children aged 15, 11, and 9 years which attend school in the area. “I can look out the window and see the log trucks drivers,” many of which are her friends and now customers of her new business and “be close to my kids.”
