Creswell, Oregon - Sunrise Cafe is open (August 10) and already is becoming the place to be in the morning ---
Shiloh Dove, owner of Sunrise Cafe located at 44 West Oregon, Creswell, Oregon has quickly moved into business for himself with having never owned a restaurant before. However, it was not entered into as casually as it sounds ---- he has surrounded himself with a veteran (CJ) of much experience in the restaurant business including ownership of her own restaurant in Pennsylvania which is where she has relocated from.
Sunrise which features outdoor seating and a future walk up door has decorated the restaurant in kind of an island theme with bamboo prominent in the decoration, to "kind of have people is casual mood, that morning feeling like on an island", Dove states. Shiloh himself is very relaxed, so perhaps they can pull it off. So far, with amount of traffic it appears Creswellians are either really checking it out, have accepted the new location already, or both.
Shiloh & CJ are both residents of Creswell they have worked diligently to bring the opening off without a hitch. Shiloh is keeping his ear close to the ground to determine just exactly what will encourage Creswell residents to make Sunrise their morning meeting place.
To entice Creswellians he has his own secret coffee that he claims, "is the best" which includes a House Blend, Hazelnut, Dark with perhaps more to be added later. Breakfast and Lunch is what they are concentrating on presently which includes Sunrise Breakfast, Omelettes, Belgian Waffles and Pancakes. For Lunch they add Pitas and Sandwiches, Homemade Soup... yes homemade, Baked Potatoes, and a variety of salads. There are a variety of warm drinks which of course includes coffee, espresso and Shakes & smoothies & ice cream. No, they have not forgotten the kids with the menu starting at $2.25 for Peanut Butter and Jelly with Chips.
Shiloh who hails from the Santa Cruz, California area is grateful to be here away from all the hussle & bussle of that California Lifestyle. "I really enjoy the slower pace here", he states.
Local Dave Shoop says when asked why he had stopped by, he says, "I really like the coffee here", and "I try to support the local businesses ".
In addition there are plans to add dinner specials Friday & Saturday which may include rotiserie turkey & chicken and more that is yet to be decided. Remember Shiloh is adjusting to Creswellians input on a daily basis.
