Leaders Gather in Closed Meeting Re: Bald Knob Fire Impacts

The following message from Councilor David Case:

We are working to do what we can to help this local employer from the tragedy of their mill fire at their Bald Knob plant in Creswell. Today we are having a meeting, closed to media and the public, to determine the assistance options for them to not only rebuild, but in an expediting manner to control any further losses. At this time they are still retaining their nearly 100 employees, keeping them busy at another operation in Springfield, until they can determine what exactly they are going to do. Our perspective is that we'd like to do what we can to make sure the citizens of Creswell and surrounding areas who are affected by this are kept in the loop and know what is being done to help Bald Knob get back into operation as quickly as possible, but feel like we should proceed cautiously and not raise expectations too high until we know what exactly is out there for a company in a situation like this.
